Spring at The Preserve at Ironhorse

Written by The Preserve at Ironhorse | May 05, 2026

There's always something on the calendar at The Preserve at Ironhorse, and spring 2026 was no small part of that.

From January through April, the club worked through a full schedule of member events, each one adding something different to the season.

This is a look at how it played out.

January and February: Competition Gets Going Early

Opening with the Member-Member Tournament in January, we followed with the Men's Member-Guest in early February. The Member-Guest, held over four days, is consistently the biggest event of the year at The Preserve. It regularly draws 120 to 140 players, and the format gives members a chance to bring in someone from outside the club — a brother-in-law, a longtime playing partner, a business contact — and show them what the course and community are about.

Both events set the tone for the rest of the season.

March: The Preserve Cup

The Preserve Cup returned for its second year in March, and 48 members turned out for two days of team match play competition. The format is well-suited to the club. Match play keeps things interesting without taking over, and the format suits the club well.

The event culminated in a Shoot-Out for flight winners, which drew a crowd of members who were not missing this. The atmosphere was filled with people cheering and an occasional heckle from friends in the gallery. A post-event gathering closed out the weekend.

Two years in, the Preserve Cup already has the feel of something that's been around longer. A tradition in the making.

April: The Season Peaks

April delivered the Club Championship on the 10th and 11th. Chris Browning won the men's title, but not easily — he and Justin Howard went to a playoff that didn't end until the 37th hole. John Cross and Tyler Brookman were notable runners-up in a field that kept things close throughout. In the women's division, Michelle Chesney took first place in a tight finish over Colleen Perlmutter.

A few days later, the Cancer Alliance Cocktail Party and Tournament brought something different to the club. The cocktail party and silent auction ran on April 16th, with the tournament following the next day. Two events that combined golf with something outside the club's walls.

The Senior Club Championship closed out the spring calendar on April 18th and 19th.

A Season You’ll Want to Be Part Of

Spring at The Preserve moves quickly. The events stack up, the course stays busy, and the regular members find themselves woven into the fabric of all of it.
