Moving to a new location can be a huge hassle not to mention the unknown of the new location. To make your transition easier, we have compiled a list of what you need to know before moving to South Florida so you can plan accordingly without any hitches.

Riding Bikes in South Florida
If you are an avid bike rider, choose your locations carefully when moving to South Florida. In some parts of the county, bike riders are not seen kindly and do not have dedicated biker lanes. Several parts of the city do not know the phrase, “share the road.” So, when you are searching for that perfect riding location, consider checking out the Shark Valley Trail, CB Smith Park, or Amelia Earhart Park instead of riding along the streets and normal roads.

Enjoy the Sun and the Beach
It’s no surprise that both the weather and the beaches in South Florida are spectacular. In some cases, the temperature can be too much. Air-conditioning in Florida isn’t a commodity, it’s a necessity. Families and individuals spend more time doing outdoor sports and activities in Florida than they do in their own homes.

However, when temperatures rise, air-conditioning is a savior. The numerous stores, restaurants, and especially golf clubs provide AC to customers. Whether you are purchasing or renting, making sure both your vehicle and your new home have a good AC.

Nightlife Culture
South Florida is a microcosm of culture from all around the world creating some of the United States’ top nightlife experiences. Whether it is beach parties, festivals, or enjoying the several restaurants with live music, nightlife is just as rich as daytime activities. Beaches are filled with different private and public parties all year long.

Some of these are free and open to the public while other require a cover charge or advanced purchase. Evening boat rides and dinner cruises are also available. Be careful about where you choose to spend your time as not all locations are safe but be sure to experience all that South Florida’s nightlife has to offer.

Art and Culture
With so many daytime activities along with the beautiful climate, both residents and tourists often forget that the city is rich in both art and culture. There are many art galleries throughout South Florida that feature pieces by Monet, Picasso, and many other famous artists. Because of the international influx, art exhibits frequently feature art from more remote parts of the world. Several museums are free and open to the public.

Two of the must-see museums are the South Florida Science Museum for kids and the Armory Arts Center. There is also the infamous Art Basel in Miami which attracts artists and tourists from around the world.

Golf Courses and Country Clubs
With both the weather and the climate, golf courses are numerous and provide a wealth of entertainment for individuals and families. One of the best members only country clubs is The Preserve at Ironhorse located in West Palm Beach, Florida. They offer members everything from a beautiful golf course, tennis courts with outdoor lighting, swimming pools and fitness center as well as social events.
